About Get Moving Mama


Hi! I’m Toni.

I’m a crazy busy Mama of 5 kids ages 13, 8, 5, 3, and 1. I also gain 55-100lbs during my pregnancies and refer to myself as the elastic woman sometimes. I have gained 375lbs in the last 10 years and I’ve lost 285lbs. Shut the front door right?!

I had my last kiddo 18 months ago. It was the scariest pregnancy of all five of mine, but also the one with the least amount of issues. During my fourth pregnancy, I ended up in the hospital on bedrest for 2.5 weeks before almost dying and losing my son.

Then I moved into the NICU for another two weeks. We are both here and I’m so thankful for it! The fifth pregnancy was scary because I wasn’t supposed to get pregnant again. The five doctors at the practice I go to basically said, “Do not get pregnant again because you need to remain alive for your four kids and that having another child might change that”. We make plans, God laughs.

Sawyer was the missing piece and after giving birth, I’m here. Overweight, unhappy, tired, unmotivated, eh. I was 236lbs when I gave birth to her. Then, my body decided it wasn’t going to get rid of any weight once I was down to 213lbs. That was fun.

That brings me to today. This is me today. I’ve started this blog because I know that there are other women out there that are going through the same thing. It’s not about looking super fly with my 125lb body.

It’s about being healthy in the body I’m in regardless of what size that may be. This blog is a way to help me hold myself accountable and use my journey to inspire and connect with other Mamas like you!

I promise to be transparent about my journey. That includes my thoughts, my weight, my numbers, my junk food habit, sour patch kids, and everything else.

It’s hard to be a mom of any number of kids and find the time needed for self-care. I struggle with this tremendously.

I was an athlete my entire life. I use to sprint bleachers that were as tall as my knee for fun. I’m a former National Dance Champion (I was even on ESPN), state champion tennis player, and I’ve coached cheerleading and dance programs during my high school and early adult years. I know how to move my body. It’s just so damn hard to move it these days.

Get Moving Mama is about loving the body you are in, taking care of it, learning some awesome recipes and workouts for the family, and finding the inspiration and support you need to get moving and keep moving.
